Benedict to open Charleston Festival on May 19

Benedict will be performing T. S. Eliot’s ‘The Waste Land with Britten Sinfonia and soprano Anna Dennis bringing the score.

100 years after it was published, award-winning actor Benedict Cumberbatch breathes new life into one of the greatest works of modernist literature, T. S. Eliot’s ‘The Waste Land.’ In 1978, Anthony Burgess, best known for writing ‘A Clockwork Orange’, set the poem to music. Bringing this score alive in an extraordinary performance are Britten Sinfonia, one of the world’s most celebrated ensembles, and soprano Anna Dennis.

Introduced by Lyndall Gordon.

Tickets go on sale on March 1. More information here.
